Bush Film Wins Award

 College Station – Frame By Frame, a film and video production company, recently received an award at Houston WorldFest.  “George Bush: A Great American” won a gold in the category for Biographical Film and Video Production.

According to Greg Phelps, founder of Frame By Frame, “WorldFest began 41 years ago as an International Film Society in August, 1961 and became the third competitive international film festival in North America, following San Francisco and New York.  WorldFest is one of the oldest and largest film and video competitions in the world, with more than 4,300 category entries received from 37 countries and is the only film festival in North America that is staffed and managed totally by filmmakers.”

Frame By Frame was founded in 1995.  It is a full-service film and video production company that services national and international clientele.  Frame By Frame received three additional WorldFest awards this past year for the producing and directing efforts of Greg Phelps and John Franklin.

George Bush: A Great American” explores the life of George H.W. Bush from his first steps in Kennebunkport, Maine, to World War II fighter pilot, to marriage and Yale, to Texas oil man, to father, to his time in Congress and the CIA, to the White House, and finally to his days after the presidency.  President and Mrs. Bush speak about life after the White House and the joy they feel for their children and grandchildren. 

“George Bush: A Great American” is shown in the Museum’s Orientation Theater every half hour. Another Frame by Frame production can be seen in the Bush Museum. Barbara Bush: An Extraordinary Journey is a 16 minute synopsis of the life and times of the former first lady. Narrated by Barbara Bush herself, she tells the story of her life from a school girl in Rye, New York to first lady of the land and beyond. The exhibit is on display in the Ansary Gallery of American History through January 2, 2005.    

The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library hours are Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m.  Museum admission is $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens 62+ and groups of 20 or more with reservations.  Children 6 and older are $2.00 TAMU and Blinn college students as well as children under 6 are free.
